Recently, Jersey State
Bank, presented the Jersey County Honor Guard with a donation of $500 to be used
to offset operating expenses of the group as they provide military rights at
services throughout the area. Pictured above is Larry Anderson, President of
Jersey State Bank, as he makes the presentation. Anderson stated that
"since the Honor Guard receives no funding from any government organization
and must operate primarily from donations from the public, we at Jersey State
Bank, feel an added sense of responsibility to assist another "home
town" organization as they provide their time to honor to our military
veterans.
Recently, Susie Becker, EVP and Cashier of Jersey State Bank, presented a check in the amount of $500 to the Jersey County Historical Society Foundation Board of Directors. The funds will help support the continuation of the Society’s education mission and aid in "telling the story" of the history of Jersey County and its citizens. Additionally, the donation will assist in the maintenance of the Cheney Mansion, the Lone Star School, the Log Cabin, the Museum with the Flautt Addition and help in the completion of the Hickory Grove and Union Forest Church projects.

The staff and Directors of Jersey State Bank, along with Tom Thompson of Wildflower Farm recently partnered in an endeavor to re-establish the landscaping around the community gazebo in Grafton Park, across the street from the Jersey State Bank offices. The previous landscaping had been destroyed in this year’s flooding, which also, rendered the entire city park virtually useless during the summer months. Wildflower Farm provided the expertise in designing the landscaping layout and Jersey State Bank purchased the plants and shrubs. Both businesses provided several employees to assist with the tasks of preparation, planting and mulching.
